A new study looked at how hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and alcohol use together raise the risk of liver cancer. The researchers reviewed 28 studies with over 42,000 people. They found that alcohol increases the danger of liver cancer in people with hepatitis B or C.

People with hepatitis B who drank alcohol had a 14 times higher risk of liver cancer. For those with hepatitis C and alcohol use, the risk was 42 times higher. Having both hepatitis B and C raised the risk by 32 times.

This study highlights the importance of limiting alcohol if you have hepatitis B or C. Drinking less can lower the risk of liver cancer. It is also important to get proper treatment for hepatitis infections. Preventing hepatitis through vaccination and regular check-ups can help protect your liver.
