1. Early colon cancer caught on colonoscopy — removed without chemo

શું આંતરડાનું કેન્સર શરૂઆતના તબક્કે પકડાય તો કીમો વગર પણ મટી શકે?

A woman in her mid-30s was found on colonoscopy to have an early cancer arising in a polyp in the right colon. A doorbeen (laparoscopic) right hemicolectomy removed it completely; all 41 lymph nodes were clear (Stage I), so no chemotherapy was needed — only surveillance. Colon cancer caught early is the simplest to treat.

2. Don't stop at one normal test — a cancer found on repeat colonoscopy

क्या एक बार सामान्य आई जाँच के बाद भी बने रहने वाले लक्षणों को नज़रअंदाज़ करना ठीक है?

A man in his 50s had persistent symptoms; an initial CT and a first colonoscopy were reassuring, but a repeat colonoscopy found a cancer at the hepatic flexure (Stage IIB). A doorbeen (laparoscopic-assisted) radical right hemicolectomy removed it with clear margins, followed by chemotherapy. Don't be falsely reassured by one normal test — persistent symptoms deserve repeat or expert evaluation.

3. Long-standing anaemia hiding a right-colon cancer

શું લાંબા સમયની અશક્તિ અને લોહીની ઉણપ પાછળ આંતરડાની છુપી ગાંઠ હોઈ શકે?

A woman in her 60s had long-standing weakness and iron-deficiency anaemia; evaluation revealed a right-colon (caecal) cancer. A radical right hemicolectomy removed it; as lymph nodes were involved (Stage IIIB), chemotherapy was advised. Unexplained anaemia can hide a right-colon cancer — investigate the cause rather than only taking iron.

4. A colon cancer grown into a neighbouring organ — completely removed

क्या पड़ोसी अंग तक फैल चुकी आंत की गाँठ भी पूरी तरह निकाली जा सकती है?

A man in his 50s had a locally advanced caecal cancer that had grown into the neighbouring ureter. A single en-bloc operation removed the right colon with the involved segment of ureter (with a stent); all margins were clear and 45 lymph nodes negative (Stage IIB), followed by chemotherapy. Even locally advanced colon cancer growing into a nearby organ can be completely removed by expert surgery.

Frequently asked questions

Does early colon cancer always need chemotherapy?

Not always. When it is found early and lymph nodes are clear, complete surgical removal with surveillance may be enough.

Should one normal colonoscopy end the workup?

If symptoms persist, repeat or expert evaluation is important — some cancers are only found on a second look.
